HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST? Appointments are usually scheduled every 4 weeks. If this is your first waxing experience you can reasonably expect your results to last between 3 and 6 weeks with minimal growth in the days and weeks following your appointment, depending on how quickly your particular hair grows. Hair regrowth patterns are cyclical and you will notice an improvement in regard to the longevity of your results as you become regular with your waxing services.

DOES WAXING CAUSE HAIR TO REGROW THICKER? No. This is a complete myth. Waxing, in fact, is known to actually stop hair growth all together in some cases. It is important to keep in mind though that waxing should be used as a temporary hair removal method as the slowing or stopping of hair growth takes many years of consistent waxing.

IS WAXING SAFE FOR THOSE WITH SENSITIVE SKIN? If done properly, waxing can be a great benefit to people with sensitive skin. It is much more gentle on the skin than many other methods of hair removal, IE. shaving and at home depilatories. It is impossible to predict who will have a reaction to the wax or any product used. If you have sensitive skin it is very important to follow the instructions in the pre-waxing guide as well as the post-waxing guide.

WHAT TYPE OF WAX IS USED? We use different types of wax for different services. Most waxing services require the use of hard wax, which hardens on the skin and is then removed. Hard wax is perfect for use on people who have sensitive skin as the wax encapsulates each individual hair and does not attach to skin. For some services provided a strip wax, or soft wax, is best to use. Strip wax is applied to the skin and a small piece of paper is pressed over the top and is removed in that fashion. All of the waxes used are of the highest quality and the results are superior because of this.

BRAZILIAN FAQ's:

WHAT IS A BRAZILIAN WAX? A Brazilian wax is a style of waxing that removes all of the hair from the bikini area to the backside. A typical Brazilian wax leaves absolutely no hair in one's bikini area, however, some choose to leave a small amount  on the pubic bone. It is entirely up to the individual and we are able to accommodate nearly any request.

HOW LONG DOES MY HAIR NEED TO BE? Hair needs to be 1/4 inch long. If it is too short, the hair will be difficult to remove. More pain is associated with longer growth. If you typically shave please allow 7-10 days between shaving and waxing.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A STANDARD BIKINI AND A BRAZILIAN BIKINI? A standard bikini wax removes all of the hair from your bikini area that would be visible if you were wearing a standard bikini, an extended bikini wax moves downward and inward from a standard bikini. Brazilian waxing is the most intimate of all waxing services and removes all of the hair in the bikini area and all hair from your backside as well. Some clients prefer to leave a small amount behind and others prefer to go completely bare, the decision is entirely up to the individual.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY SERVICE? When you arrive at CBQ for your scheduled appointment you will be greeted and asked to fill out a short questionnaire, such is the case with any waxing service provided, you will then be shown to the treatment room and given instructions to disrobe from the waist down, to lie on the facial bed and you will be provided with a modesty towel to cover yourself. At that time, you will be given a moment of privacy to prepare yourself. There is absolutely no awkward positioning and your wax will be provided in a professional manner by an experienced Esthetician.

IS BODY WAXING SANITARY? There is never any double-dipping of our waxing implements, and therefore, no risk of cross-contamination.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT TO EXPERIENCE AFTER MY SERVICE? Aside from soft, smooth skin, you will likely notice the following: follicular edema, tenderness and redness. You may also experience itchiness as well as small bumps, which will subside on their own in roughly 3 days. This is all very normal and nothing to be alarmed over. Applying a small amount of over the counter cortisone cream will ease your symptoms. Following the pre and post-waxing guide will reduce the likelihood of experiencing irritation as well.

IS A BRAZILIAN WAX PAINFUL? There is always some pain associated with body waxing and the bikini area is quite sensitive, so yes, there will be some discomfort involved. This can be minimized by following the instructions given in the pre-waxing guide.

HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I ALLOW? A full Brazilian wax takes between 15 and 30 minutes to complete.

WHO MAY RECEIVE A BRAZILIAN WAX? Any person above the age of 18 may be provided a Brazilian waxing service. This is due to the intimate nature of this particular style of waxing. Persons under the age of 18 may be provided with a basic or extended bikini wax but, due to the intimate nature of such services, will be required to provide written parental consent.

MAY I WAX WHILE PREGNANT? Although there is more discomfort associated with waxing while pregnant due to hormonal fluctuations, it is perfectly safe and even recommended. Maintaining your usual standard of grooming may be difficult during the later stages of pregnancy and receiving regular waxing services alleviates you of the bother. There are also health advantages to bikini waxing while pregnant due to the greater susceptibility to certain bacterial infections.

MAY I RECEIVE A WAXING SERVICE WHILE ON MY CYCLE? Due to the sensitivity caused by hormonal changes beginning the week prior to the start of your cycle, it is not recommended. However, this is left up to the individual and it is no issue to accommodate.

LASHES FAQ's:

ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS RIGHT FOR ME? Almost anyone can enjoy eyelashes, but if one or more of the following conditions apply to you, you may not be a good candidate for this service.

You do not follow instructions well and are unable to maintain the aftercare guidelines. If you do not understand the requirements before and after the lash application, this is probably not a service for you.

You rub your eyes frequently. If you rub your eyes frequently due to allergies, or if rubbing your eyes is just a habit, we do not suggest this service.

You have highly sensitive skin. We do not recommend lashes if you experience irritation around the eye area after using skincare or makeup.

You are sick or feeling ill. If you have a cold or sinus infection, we suggest waiting to get lashes until you are feeling 100% better. Illness plays a large role in poor retention of lashes.

Your natural eyelashes are very curly. If your natural lashes are very curly you are not a good candidate for lashes. Curly lashes tend to dramatically shorten the wear time of lashes.

You do not have natural eyelashes. If you do not have natural lashes, you will be unable to wear lashes. Lashes must be placed on the natural eyelash, not directly on the skin.

HOW IS IT DONE? When you come in for an apt. you want to make sure you're lashes and entire eye area are clean. Your lashes are then primed and the application begins! We separate each lash individually and place the lashes on top of your natural lash with a lash adhesive.

DO THE LASH PROCESS HURT? They should not hurt when applied correctly. All of our Estheticans are very highly trained and skilled in the art of eyelashes.

DO THEY LOOK FAKE? No. We have 3 different lengths. We can customize whatever look you desire. From the most natural to high glam lashes!

HOW LONG DOES LASHES LAST? We don't guarantee our lashes, because It also depends on how well they are taken care of by the individual. You will be given after care directions. Our eyelash adhesive has a bond time of anywhere from 1-2 weeks.

WILL THEY DAMAGE MY NATURAL LASHES? Eyelash do not damage your natural lashes if they are applied correctly and remove correctly. You will be given an after care directions of removal at home.

CAN I WEAR MASCARA ON MY LASHES? Yes, however, we recommend an clear oil-free mascara so that it does not break down the adhesive. Eyelashes are meant to replace mascara, so it is our hope that you will not feel the need to put mascara on them!

CAN I WEAR EYE SHADOW MAKEUP? Yes, of course! Always keep in mind that oil-free products should become your go-to once you get eyelashes. We recommend using a daily cleanser with makeup remover that is safe for your lashes to remove residue at the end of the day.
